It is pretty hard to predict what will happen to the price of the coin (SJCX) after launch. We all tend to price the GB/year plans, it has been compared to Dropbox costs, Amazon costs, and so on. The truth is, there is a market out there, and price is driven, as always, by supply and demand. However, the implementation details are very important, too. For a solution with a nice GUI, that is easy to use, people will be willing to pay a decent price. If it is going to be hard for them to figure out how it all works.. then not so much.

I feel that Dropbox is popular not only because it fills a need (for online storage), but also because it is also easy to use, and it looks good.

Yup, I agree it's less about the price and more about easy of use and attractiveness. Security and decentralization are great and all, but they're meaningless in terms of a successful business without a GUI that's clean and grandma-easy.

I think that an important aspect of the launch is going to be convincing people that storing other peoples data on their computers is safe and easy.  We know it will be.  But there is a large number of people who will see that notion and their initial reaction will be concern about viruses and other people accessing their information.  It's going to take a while for them to warm up to the idea after it has been implemented and they see other people are doing fine.  It's the sociological factors that are going to be interesting to watch through the early phases of this tech.

I also think that there is going to be an added hurdle regarding the method of payment.  In order to compete with Dropbox and others for adoption, people are going to need to bond with the idea of crypto currencies

I think the social factors will be interesting but in the end, it is the tech that will ultimately speak for itself...it just might take some time for it to bridge the gap between tech savvy and the everyday user.  Very exciting times...

very true. eliminating misconceptions and false rumors is going to be crucial in order for Storj to truly gain traction in the public. we've seen how misinformation can ruin the appeal of a new tech to people.
