I think it is certainly possible. The way things work, there are push and pull forces working in tandem. You get pull forces, that pull the worth and value of fiat downwards. People value fiat less and less, and you get push forces pushing the perceived value of BTC upwards. Combine the two and you can reach a 10,000 price point much faster. Things transcend fast over the media to get this realization that much more faster.
