It's small stuff and voluntary so unless you want to take up the reigns of creating a new overview thread and keep up a sufficient maintenance level for months on end its a small commission cost for the work provided.
Usually "unless" clauses have "unless x, y" where if x is true, y is not (and often an implication of vice versa in natural language). You say "unless I want to take this upon myself..." but don't give the rest (that I can see). Presumably, the end of your "unless" is something like "keep your opinion to yourself" or something along those lines.
My point is simply this: (1) bitcoinformation wasn't the first one to run a thread like this (2) the old thread was not commercialized (3) bitcoininformation says "bear with me, don't expect any work". I have an opinion which is that if this thread were not commercialized that his disclaimer would be better placed. If he's trying to run a business, it simply looks bad to say "sorry but I won't get around to it".
Furthermore, I ask again about the special exception granted to bitcoininformation by staff to run a commercialized thread. Now that he is on staff, isn't this a conflict of interest?
People's comments on my opinion have already touched on "dickhead" and the usual euphemism of vulgarity provided by an internet forum, yet my opinion is what it is, feel free to comment on the substance, should any of you have any such material to offer.
