GAW doesn't need anyone to do anything for them to accept XPY, all they need to do is start accepting it. Why on earth should the believers pay any BTC to give them the ability to use their XPY with GAW?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending GAW, but it's not true that "all they need to do is start accepting it".

Honoring the price they quoted would certainly put upward pressure on the order books and raise the overall market price though.

If they reinstated the floor for more than 30 minutes, yes. But that's not the same as simply accepting it at current prices.
