No, the code base was already in existence. Xcash inherits base classes and functions of original bitcoin code base. This is what is being re-written. Where they fucked up was claiming that xmarket could be delivered using the existing code base.
I think x11joe should attempt to rebuild it. I have a shit load of these coins, well over 100K. Do these get replaced?
