if I had to guess this was when the price of Bitcoin was much lower then it is now. The chances of theft from the mail are much higher when you are away because it is usually appearant that you are not home. Plus I imagine that the packages sent by WC are not going to fit in most mailboxes therefore it would potentially be sitting outside for several days (unless of course you have your butler take it inside when it arrives)

Wait, when a large package is delivered to your house and there's nobody home, they just LEAVE IT OUTSIDE?
What country do you live in? That's insane.
If no one is home and no signature is required then they will generally leave it on your front porch or on top of your mailbox if you have a community mail box (like you have in apartment complexes).
If a signature is required then they make a limited number of attempts then will return the package to the sender.
