As marketing tactics go, I can't imagine they'll get many new members to their little IRC club after the pompous soapboxing they've displayed in this thread. Definitely doesn't look like a group I'd want to be a part of. Bunch of egomaniacs.

In fact, you (personally) are the best argument in favour of the fork. The majority of people don't want Bitcoin to be yet another tool for the elites and that's precisely what you want to turn it into. Elitist IRC club, elitist exchange, elitist blockchain.
