Since the collapse of Monero, the original Cryptonote coin Bytecoin has emerged as the only cryptonote challenger in the private and anonymous cryptocurrency field.
http://bytecoin.org/Darkcoin currently holds the top position - it's well developed, has a strong community and a good daily trading volume.
Bytecoin is the challenger - again well developed, strong community (though not on BCT) and is not a clone of any previous coin.
They both have fast blocks, however Bytecoin has a much larger total supply.
It will be interesting to see how the competition between these two develops.
Sorry, but due to past behaviour - rpietila or Monero devs are not permitted to post on this threadNo offense but Monero has 3X the volume BCN has. 5K in volume of any crypto is laughable.
Monero's volume is also laughable compared to Darkcoins.
Which is laughable compared to litecoins.
I'm a cryptonote fan ... esp Monero. But it seems to me that all cryptonotes are losing the economic race.
Well, I would say 2x rather than 3x - The XMR volume pumped a lot just after Monero dipped under Bytecoin initially. Question is; If the many self-moderated Monero threads are generating the extra volume - who is selling?
I agree about the CN volumes generally - however CN is still nascent compared to BTC - I don't think it matters much what happens to volumes and market price in the medium term - more so development. Monero, BBR have been more active on that front but none of it is blow your socks off stuff so far.
Thanks, (and to Arcticnote) I'll take a look at Darkcoins - I must admit I didn't take much notice of new CNs after the initial 'Notomatic' post by cryptonote team.
