Yawn - if the dollar crashes bitcoin is not going to save you. That is the only fact here.

P.s. The dollar is not going to crash any time soon.....

I think we can agree to disagree about the dollar collapsing, it's almost a mainstream idea these days.

But let's imagine the dollar started to collapse, it won't be over weeks it will be sudden and violent. What would you do and what would you advise your froends and family to do? if a bank run happens it will be an online bank run, no queues outside banks. In 24hrs most people would have time to move their money to some kind fo online Gold account which usually takes time to process or people will scramble to Bitcoin. I'm not saying everyone will, but enough to send the price way higher than people imagine.
Lol - I have a handful of friends that lived through the social collapse of Bosnia in 1992. Now although I can't say that what I am telling you is going to be applicable to a dollar collapse situation I can theorise this:

a) If the dollar collapses the social unrest is going to hit factor 10 (worse than Bosnia).
b) Social unrest is a very ugly phenomena.

My friends stories actually broke my heart. But I can summarise some main points really quickly:

a) Money becomes worthless. No one wants a medium of exchange, they want real tangible goods. That is not gold and silver, that is food, guns, ammunition, candles, lighters, whisky (lots of people turn to drink).
b) The only time people are willing to trade their goods is in exchange for other goods that they NEED. No one cares about being wealthy.
c) If you are somehow wealthy in this situation, you will be killed.
d) The only thing that will protect you is many friends and many guns.

Subsequently I really have to disagree strongly about BitCoin being worth a dime in a dollar collapse situation. I honestly5.  think that people don't know what they are actually saying when they talk about a dollar collapse. Be careful what you wish for

1. The Internet was barely used in 1992.
2. Bitcoin was not invented in 1992.
3. We are ina time of mass transport, just because the dollar collapses dosnt mean many savvy people will seek to leave the U.S. and take wealth with them.
4. I'm sorry but if there was very wealthy Bosnians they would of scrambled their wealth into gold and left, you experiences are one of the average man on the street.
5. Bosnia was a civil war not simply a currency collapse.
6. I live in Asia, your dollar or Euro has no affect on me so if it does turn to bloody violence I'll be watching you blow each other's brains out on Twitter sipping lattes just like Americans did during the Bosnian war, The Iraq war, The Libiyan war, Vietnam War the Ukrainian war....No one said it will be pretty but America is not the whole world, many countries and parts of the world might even prosper from a dollar collapse.

1 and 2  are irrelevant. People were too busy staying alive to care about anything above necessities.
3 and 4 are true. But for every 5 people who are rich enough to leave there are 95 who aren't. My friends said that is happened so fast that hardly anyone had the preparations to leave.
5 A currency collapse would lead to collapsed states and massive internal conflicts. Zimbabwe 2008 springs to mind.
6 Depends where in Asia, but you will have minimal repercussions. Yes

P.s. You sound like a intelligent interesting individual. Don't take my disagreements personally (in case you were).
