I wouldn't be comfortable holding that much long-term on an exchange. There's non-negligible counter-party risk involved.

He probably can't figure out how to cash it out without the banks reporting it.
At least I hope that is the problemwhen I cashed out in 2013 I declared the winnings to the Greek IRS (and payed taxes)
but still... you can never know this is Greece after all
