The closest one is 1.5 hours drive. Whereas there is a store that sells moneypak right down the street from me. And I like the safety and anonymity. Those are the only real reasons.

If you can't find a trade here, you might want to place an offer on the #bitcoin-otc marketplace. Mention that you'll have the receipt (showing you paid with cash) to increase confidence the fund are legit.
Also, if you'll be sending first, take precautions like using an escrow. Or use the #bitcoin-otc's authentication system that way you can ensure your counterparty is authenticated with the #bitcoin-otc Web of Trust (WoT) and has a good trust history
