One can also do it with armory instead of strongcoin-offlinetx-script, but firefox+strongcoin-offlinetx-script seem simpler to install onto an offline machine than armory (took me multiple sessions of 1-2 hours to get armory onto the offline ubuntu machine).

What was the cause of the problem here? If you use the supplied "offline-bundle", it takes about 30 seconds to install on an offline Ubuntu machine (double-click InstallAllDeps.sh, and you're done). If something wasn't so easy, then I'd like to know how it can be improved. I expected the offline machine to be the easiest...
it was discussed here back when I did it. I think first it was wrong python version, then it was mainly wrong glibc version linked against the swig stuff vs. the version on my ubuntu. I ended up using a version of cppForSwig I compiled on a different host. Read post
