How can we really protect ourselves from this hackers. If this couldnt be solved then Bitcoin will not even reach 2 years.
Don't send your coins to dodgy exchanges? Use decentralised ones that let you hold on to your own coins until it is time to sell.
What good ones are there that do that and let you trade in alts?
How about one like that? Only has a handful of alts currently, though. There doesn't seem to be many decentralized exchanges currently but this will all change over time. I think most bitcoin related infrastructure will move to decentralization eventually - markets, exchanges, even possibly forums and social networks.
Silly Money, I agree. But I see here that bter's COLD wallets were hacked. Looks like some very bad random numbers.... very bad..... who knows. However, we're trying to solve these problems with our prototype Wall of Coins:
