He didn't say "some" or "my main stash". He stated that ALL of his coins were allegedly lost.
He faked most, if not all of the donations hoping that onlookers would be fooled into thinking this was a supportive community. eg. monkey see.. monkey doo..

For sure he did not fake all donations, because one was mine. I am still bag holding also. Could be life happened to Mr. Spread, and I hope for him he will come out good, and I hope for us he will return and go on with his work. He deserves a lot of respect for the 6 months he has been running Spreadcoin, and I really hope he will return to continue. In the meantime, it would be a good idea that people from the community with skills take a look at the code and make some effort in getting to know it and maybe even make it better and take over if Mr. Spread might not return.
With this whole thing I realized that a true decentralized coin also should be coded by more than one developer, because now this has become a bottleneck and single point of failure. With more developers even more decentralization will be attained.
