Will home miners forced out still use Bitcoin or would they start following some alt they could mine?

If it all comes down to a few big miners, why keep using the coin?

thats like saying "power is cheaper from the big hydroelectric company then it is to buy and maintain my own windmill/solar panels - should i stop using electricity to provide heat and light?"

and if an altcoin is profitable for home mining - i guarentee it will be profitable for someone to run 50kW+ of that same equipment somewhere that has cheaper power. centralisation is entirely natural, the idea is that there will still be a diverse number of companies/individuals so that bitcoin never becomes truly centralised by one person or company.

a few years ago there were guys who had warehouses and offices filled with dozens of motherboards and hundreds of GPUs. Its actually a lot of those same people that now have warehouses and businesses filled with high density ASICs
