So, over two weeks have passed since Mr Transparency (s0br) posted this:
Gil (s0br) sent us all an email on March 6th:
"Quick update...
We had a severe server crash this past Friday. We were able to restore everything within a couple of hours. I discovered the bug that caused the havoc and my fix introduced new bugs I wasn't aware of. The stratum servers went up and down yesterday as I was implementing fixes that weren't quite fixes. However, along with the fixes there are some new updates in the stratum/database code that seek to make share counting even more accurate and reliable. There were a handful of stratum servers that were dropping shares so I need everyone to check out their payment history and look for anything that looks like lost shares.
Please submit a trouble ticket or find us on IRC on freenode in #bitaffnet. In your ticket response please just give a btc amount of what you believe is missing and we will quickly reimburse you.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
There are a couple of new features to play with if anyone's interested...
1. We now support fixed difficulties.
If you'd like to specify your own difficulty, simply add ##DIFFICULTY to the end of your worker name. For example.. if your username is MrCool and your worker name is Ant1.... and you'd like a difficulty of 512.... use the following...
pool: geo.bitcoindigger.com:3333 username: MrCool.Ant1##512 password: whatever
2. A lot more work has gone into improving the stratum servers. They auto adjust based on the miner connecting to them in effort to reduce your invalids and improve your miner's performance.
3. Nicehash/Westhash support is back. Based on the latest updates (this morning), the share counting with their proxies should be pretty accurate.
Thanks...
