One of the first games I played on the new site I saw a guy win a 0.05 chip pot and get raked 0.01 chips. That's 20% rake at microstakes.

This is still happening.

In 0.05 OFC/p rake is always taken, from every winning player.

If you win 0.05, the house takes 0.01, or 20% of your winnings.

It seems the rake is 1%, capped at 3 chips, rounded up to the nearest 0.01.

Wouldn't it be better to round it down, not up?

Here are some examples:

See how every pot is 0.01 short of a multiple of 0.05? That's the rake. In the last example 0.01 was taken from both amounts (0.50 and 0.25), making the total rake 0.02 on a 0.75 pot, or 2.66%. One the last but one example MistCat paid 0.01 rake on a 0.15 win, or 6.66% rake.

I know we're talking about tiny amounts here, but it's going to be hard to make the game pay at microstakes if you're paying up to 20% rake like that.
