Who cares about the name of the source repository...just clone whatever he does (it's open source) and stay with the well branded name "Darkcoin" for the end-user product. This WILL split the community. And that's the point I'm most afraid of....
How is that any different than someone cloning the coin right now... it won't magically create a masternode network serving as the backbone. Further, it's far more probable precautions will be taken to make sure there is a stale period on the Darkcoin name.

The "Well branded" aspect only exists with a very, very small group of users in the grand scheme of things, and most of them keep track of ongoing developments. There will also undoubtedly be a storm of users making absolute sure that any 'knockoff' is immediately discredited before it could take hold. Just saying you're "Darkcoin" doesn't make you Darkcoin, or Xcoin, or Dash, or w/e. The development team and core philosophy has to be there.
