]Apparently Evan the dev bought the rights to dashcoin and its name, substantial amount of money too. Sounds like a lot of trouble to go through in order to use a certain name. Kind of strange.

He didnt give an amount. I believe he said it was quite a bit out of his own pocket a while back, few pages.
