"cultism" in this thread that's partly due to the amount of mindless trolling that's gone on since the last price rise
I don't closely follow the price of DRK, especially as XMR has been on a distracting near 300% rise in the last month.
The rebranding fiasco and its involvement with another CryptoNote coin is what got my attention.
The intellectual dishonesty of the insta-rebrand bothers me. If something isn't broken, you don't fix it.
Your Dear Dark-cum-Dash Cult Leader 'fixed' the name of his one-man hobby project, which is functionally an admission that the Dark brand was broken.
But...we've been hearing since forever ago that Dark is a swell, amazing brand and not shady AT ALL. After all, you have to click-through an agreement disavowing using it for anything naughty (just like with uTorrent

).
The kids who thought Dark was a swell amazing not shady AT ALL brand were blindsided when Mr. Dark-cum-Dash suddenly informs them what they believed and invested in was, in fact, actually broken and HELLA SHADY all along.
Combined with the instamine and remote killswitch, a pattern and practice of shadiness results.
When these points are brought up in the relevant thread, those who hope to gain unusually high yields from their investment products go bonkers and start talking about bounties, Old West style justice, etc.
I'm sure how you can see the optics of such a situation are less than ideal (to put it nicely).
