As I recall, the whole millions of BTC mined in the beggining stay where they are all the time.

This is so odd though obviously it never really cost anything at the time but unless you fell of the side of the planet you would have know bitcoin was rising and you would at least cash some in for the essentials of life. Who knows there could be loads of reasons why they have not touched them but i hope it is not the obvious 2 death or lost private keys that would be crappy wouldn't it...

We know which addresses contain coins that he definitely mined from day one, but he probably continued mining for as long as possible. If he was still mining after a year or two we would have no way to tell those were his coins. He might never have stopped mining and kept selling coins mined after a year to buy the latest equipment on the market. For all we know he could own a big bitcoin mine and have no need to sell his early coins because he's got plenty of coins mined this year to sell.
