1. It was never instamined. The difficulty adjustment worked properly. (You can look in the blockchain for this)
There are no instantmines or premines in Monero. The smooth block subsidy scheme could be a little bit more tapered towards a slower distribution than it is, but ultimately this coin passes the smell test.
2. A relatively tiny amount of coins (maybe 5% at most, probably less) was mined for a fair amount of profit using optimized miners over several months but also at a relatively high cost to the miners (I'm told > 100K USD) by people who verifiably have nothing to do with the Monero core team.
Be careful though. You are slipping into "attack the attacker" mode. Rationally speaking there is no particular relevance between optimized miners for Monero and the first day of DRK when 1.5 million coins were mined.
