It will need high volume to stay there long.
Why? Because the dev ran away with your money? Eventually network will stop and that will be the end of it. After that probably some of the bigger investors will want to take it over, but nowadays it is extremely hard to support a coin (if you do it right) and keep it alive.
I see no reason an investor would like to invest a "dev ran away" coin... Just imagine if you're the investor, will you invest into a nearly bankrupt company?
