Newbies asking for loans are frowned upon in this forum.  It takes you literally 5 seconds to create the account, and there is NOTHING that makes you repay the loan.

If you can provide collateral, someone may loan to you.

I have an ideal : only  member or higher can create threads in Section Lending, it will limit the occurrence of topics like this .

Then they will create loan requests in other threads, making extra work for moderators.   Undecided

I don't think it would be too difficult to make this section hidden from those who are below Member, assuming SMF is similar to other forums I've been on. Anyone asking for a loan elsewhere would most likely be an alt, since any actually new users wouldn't know about a hidden lending section. That being said, I doubt the staff would do this, since they don't moderate for scams.
