Thanks for the help. Got it mining now though Minera will not show the stats on the dashboard. Is there a way to fix that? I can look at the log screen and see it mining but nothing shows on the screen.
Probably you need to give access to the API, go to settings page look at "API Allow" options and put something like this: "W:192.168.1.0/24" check your network for the right subnet to put in.
Edit: no I was wrong that's not needed, let me think, is it bfgminer? Can you check the /minera/index.php/stats page?
