For the sake of clarification, absolutely no one got f*cked over. This is an open-source project than anyone can contribute to, and there is nothing that github can do to f*ck anyone over.
Its a no obligation project. The fact the he was invited to the core dev team was an act of recognition and gratitude. No one is payed. There are dozens who contribute to the code that are not on the team. Dozen others who are independently developing their own ideas around the source code. vertoe had his reason and ideology and threw a tantrum and left. You're free to follow him.
