After receiving feedback from kano himself, I've set the default polling rate to 10m. You can set it as low a 5m, or as high as you want.

CKPool Status

Features:

• Checks your hashrate from http://www.kano.is/address.php?a=[BTC Address]
• Notification if your 1hr hash rate drops below threshold.
• Change polling rate. (5m lowest)

Also I just signed up to an account (not sure why I haven't already). I'll be adding actual API access so you can access more info.
