This doesn't even make sense? If I, Buckeye, need to hide money for a few months... why would I, Buckeye, borrow that same amount from... say... Fargo?

I think you read this wrong, Stuart gave money to Gaw, Josh wants Gaw to give him (Josh) that money and then Josh will repay it back to Stuart.. it goes full circle.
