I think that the coming years will belong to the ARM platform. AMD is working on a server-ARM processors. As soon as the rental period ends VPS, I am going to run Masternode on  
  • Raspberry Pi 2 or
  • Banana Pi or
  • Orange Pi or
  • Odroid C1
That's how I see decentralization.
I hope that there will soon be downloadable official builds on the ARM platform.

There is a step by step posted somewhere to run a masternode on rpi2 I believe Smiley
