Hello, can someone please let me know, How many shadow coins in total are to be released I believe there are nearly 6.5 million in circulation at this time?

Thanks

Shadow uses Proof of Stake (PoS) to secure the network. With that comes a 2% annual growth that goes to "stakers" who process transactions. So to answer your question about total coins to be released, the current supply is 6.4+ million and that grows by 2% annually.

Thanks for the explanation exactly what I wanted to understand.

Is this not modified by conversions to sdt? Eg total supply and stakeable  = Sdc - anon tokens eg sdt? If so, and to my current understanding, available SDC is quite a bit lower than 6.5 million.

almost 2 million SDC destroyed for SDT. Many of those SDT converted back to SDC.

FYI (from slack)

just to clarify as I would hate for it to be misunderstood

ShadowTokens created != SDC Burnt (edited)

Its a little complex but the nut of it is .. that this graph shows you

dasource [4:32 PM]
http://www.shadowchain.info/stats/shadow.php

the green dotted line is the live representation of actual SDC which is "actively" destroyed at that time

so it would be 6.4M - 340K = 6.06M SDC available right now .. (edited)

as more uses for SDT becomes available I expect that green line to shoooot up! (such as ShadowMarket etc) (edited)

so if i want to turn my SDT back to SDC would it be SDC created ! = SDT Burnt?

it sounds actually different than i've thought of it. I knew the new SDC in a SDT > SDC transaction were "new" and not linked, but i have never thought of SDC being burned in the tradition sense (never to be seen again) and truly reducing SDC supply forever

thanks for help understanding better @dasource
