I'm going to implement elasticity over the summer, I would have done it sooner but I have been more focused on my studies due to final exams for University admission etc. I don't think elasticity on its own can "save" Vertcoin, it has more than enough features for it to be a usable currency, it just doesn't have the backing compared with the bigger ones.
