If you car was stolen off the street would you call the dealership or the cops?
The people who steal coins are looking for ALL coins. They didn't target the Arch network, they targeted YOU and were able to steal ANY wallet.dat file regardless of it staking. Without encryption, all they need to do is scan for all .dat files, copy them and import it into their own wallet.
It sucks that you lost your coins but there is nothing Arch can or should do.
Car was stolen from the garage inside the house, not on the street.
The car has lowjack so the dealership knows where it is right now. However they won't return my calls.
There were a number of other high value coins that could have made off with as well, they didn't.
They targeted ARCH and took a couple of others worth a few dollars. Another ARCH CEO was hit around the same time as well.
Appreared to be a coordinated action against ARCH CEO wallets.
ARCH has NOT been supportive in anyway and has not offered any help to identify if the addresses the coins have been moved to have applied or have CEO status.
Yeah it sucks and the inaction of ARCH managment speaks volumes about what they are prepared to do in such cases, which appears to be NOTHING!
I've seen other less "professional" coins help their users out in similar cases.
I'd hoped for a little more in the way of support as I'd supported this coin from IPO on, miners on iHash, steady buys accumulating the CEO positions.
Just goes to show that you are totally on your own when the going gets rough. CEO means nothing in the end.
What is you are wanting to happen? Made whole for your lack of proper basic security?
If there was an exploit in the wallet (as you falsely claim) there would have been far more coins stolen and dumped on the exchanges.
Give it up and chalk it up to lesson learned.
