A fork gets us nowhere. We need an active developer that will support continued development.
It's a small step, not a giant leap. Afterwards, in time, true developer support(this is false support) can come in the form of many helping hands.
The scenario thats played out right now is this:
Follow demand
Monopolize skills
Create urgency Present total package deal
Press community to accept offer
The result, if offer is accepted, is that the community will be pacified and disempowered. All it can do afterwards is press on the dev with: "Is there any news dev?", "any news?" and "we demand progress!". The dev running this, for him secundary project, is likely to fold somewhere down the road because real market adoptation is not his concern, development is. So when the money runs out, he is out.
Time will tell, prove me wrong.
