Since this has been a topic of discussion:
Our lawyer sent letters to the Central bank and the FSA because we want to run a cryptocurrency brokerage business/exchange in Iceland trading, buying and selling etc.
These two letters are the formal letters from the Central Bank and the FSA in Iceland that our lawyer received.
The first letter is from the Central Bank and signed by the Deputy Governor.

Notice the beginning of the last two paragraphs:
"Laws do not require you to get any license to do business with cryptocurrency"
and
"Currently there are no laws that will call for government intervention regarding business like you describe ".
This is the formal letter from the Legal department of the Financial Supervisory Authority

Notice the last paragraph in yellow "Doing business with crypto does not require any license from the FSA"
