Maybe his honesty should be rewarded with a tentative second chance. If he's actually willing to sit out his ban then that is better than 90% of the spammers.

He is the only person I seen that has actually owned up to their actions. Give them a second chance once the ban is over. Place them on probation or something. If they stop the crap posts and start making better, constructive ones, then lesson taught. Better than saying that your not allowed on here any more.
