Much in the same way homophones mute their cognitive dissoance by only referring to being gay as a "lifestyle choice", and accepting, cognitively, no other POSSIBLE explaination other than a fantastical one buried in denial and ignorance---never once reflecting that their own straightness was obviously not a "choice" they made---and thus never seeing the fundamental fallacy of their own premises.
