What model of 7950 is that?
My reference 7970 cooler have no metal plate over vrms, so they got hot when i putted accelero xtreme 7970 on it, although i have instaled vrm heatsinks, temps are higher then with reference cooler ~ 100

The reason why they're so hot is because your Accelero is blowing hot air passed by the fins onto them. By removing that it won't be as hot - hence my solution.
