Bitcoin had the "long term holders" that sold their coins way too early. Monero needs those, too.
Not everyone has a merit to be rich and hold 2000 usd/xmr coins.
So you see XMR=2kUSD in the future?I think both scenarios are possible.
Usd indeed might lose (almost) completely its value.
On the other hand, bitcoin reached 1100 usd so why not Monero which does everything bitcoin does but is also anonymous if one desires anonymity.
However, don't ask when is the future because nobody knows the answear.
