Sometimes people have trouble stopping themselves gambling. Sometimes those same people want to help bankroll Just-Dice.
For those people I allow them to set up an "invest lock". They specify the terms, and I hold their funds in the bankroll until those terms are met.
Example terms would be "I want it locked until 2 weeks from now" or "I want it locked until CLAM trades over 0.01 or under 0.004".
When you set those terms, I take them seriously. If you ask for the lock to be released before your terms are met, I will refuse. If you keep asking, I won't let you use the lock again in the future.
Neither "come on, it's nearly time" nor "your girlfriend is a bitch" are valid reasons to release invest locks early.
Do you handle those manually? Seems like it could be tedious if you are. Or do you use some other method to help automate it?
I may actually take you up on this myself. I had someone break into one of my exchange accts in the past and they were nice enough to cancel the attempted withdrawals and lock the account down from withdrawing until I personally requested (and verified my identity) to do so. In the case of JD, I think this may be something I'll do, if you are up for taking a custom request (i.e., "here's the hash of the codeword. Don't allow withdrawals unless I provide that hash to you" or something along those lines).
