You need iron, gems and coal for upgrades further in the game, so buying when you don't need them is kinda pointless ^^
So only buy them when you need them
I got couple gem, iron and coal upgrades also, but mostly for fun x'D
(If I would be able to sell them I would be rich as fuck x'D)
