Bitcoin is irreversible -- that's one thing I like. On the other hand, I also like how it can be accessible everywhere just using your smartphone. Although gaypal has the same option, bitcoin on the other hand has more value and as i said, irreversible. The technology behind bitcoin is also unique and good. Very secured too.
this feature of bitcoin is actually both a good and a bad thing.
i love the fact that bitcoin transactions is not reversible and when you send bitcoin to someone there is nothing you can do about it anymore, this eliminates a lot of scamming which we can see happening with paypal.
but the bad part is that when you send bitcoin like for buying something you have to trust the receiver or else you have lost your bitcoin with no way to take it back.
they should ban cash too, because it can be used for drug, and their currency is not free from this, basically many other thing can be used for buying drug, they are using this excuse only to throw more fud at bitcoin , as usual
people are already using cash, so it doesn't matter , you don't need to convince people if fiat is good or bad. but it is different about bitcoin. when (if) media is advertising bitcoin as being associated with criminal activity like they do with some news, then new adopters might get scared and stay away.
On the balance I consider irreversibility a negative.
I would much prefer fairness over irrevesibility. In my opinion I would prefer that any transaction is settled as fairly as possible. In other words I don't want to pay for a broken product and have trouble because my payment for it is irreversible. Neither would I want to sell a product and receive money - and then hear from the buyer that he wasn't happy... and then argue that the sale is final... money is mine....
I can easily see how it can be abused, and irrevibility is a great thing for criminals. That money can be reversed from the account they were stolen from or defrauded from has been a headache for criminals.. and they had to empty the receiving account quickly and do all they can to ipen it under another name or otherwise try to hide their identity.. such a pain. So for criminals irrevesibility is a great thing.
But I'm not a criminal and just want both parties to be happy with any transaction I'm involved in.
