In the past, I've thought about the idea of a PDW that uses three 22lr barrels arranged in an equalateral triangle, wherein each of the three fires one round simulaniously.  I imagine, though I can't know because I've never actually tried it, the perfect shot group pattern of impact would create a prettly large trauma zone.
