Important update for everyone about hypercrypto.com:

It appears the site has been hacked, and unfortunately the backups we had were not sufficient to recover from the hack.

The website, forum and wiki are gone. I also cannot access webmail at the moment.

But, we already have a web developer who is going to be working on the new HYPER site, and this is what is coming ASAP (we are aiming to roll it out within the next week);

- User profiles on site
- Gaming competitions on site
- Gaming clans etc on site
- New HYPER forum fully integrated into the site
- We will most likely make the Wiki redundant, and instead have all that info nicely presented on the new site
- All the HYPER game servers (there are over 15 now I think) will be nicely displayed on the new site with connection info, how to play the games, how to win HYPER, etc
- All the HYPER intro videos will be on the new site
- Wallet downloads on the site etc
- possible store on the site selling CSGO skins etc for HYPER (I am waiting on confirmation on this from another HYPER team member)

So we are combining all the old sites (wiki, forum, website, and the planned HYPER gaming hub site) into one awesome HYPER site at hypercrypto.com

Will keep you all updated as we start work. We have all the tools ready to go, as a precaution I am moving us to new hosting, something doesn't seem right about what has happened.

But, in true HYPER style we are using a "bad" situation (our site being hacked) and turning it around to come back stronger than ever.

The new site will be awesome I'm really excited about it and will keep you all posted. As well as all the info about the HYPER wallets etc, it will be first and foremost be a gaming site / community, and this is what we need to take HYPER to the next level.

Gamers and digital currency enthusiasts will discover the new site and be blown away. And of course after the new site is ready we will be due for another big HYPER PR campaign.

Sounds great, do you have any plans to figure out who got into the site? And good luck on getting a new site up, if it's how you say it'll be then I'm excited for it. Definitely let us know when you have it set up, and if you need a beta tester, I'm happy to help for a bit.

Also, do you think we could add more games as HYPER gaming competitions? Cat and I are both fans of smaller prize pools (think first prize: 200H) but more games - Unturned, Rust, Killing Floor, Space Engineers, definitely Dirty Bomb when their dedicated server software comes out. I haven't played Rocket League myself, but I'd think having a Rocket League server (if possible) would boost Hyper's popularity.

Having more genre diversity would help in spreading word about Hyper. Right now, all our competitions (as far as I can tell) are team-based shooters.

Ideally, this is what I'd like to see:

- Two new contests, they end on the 15 and 30th of each month. First prize is 200H-250H, second prize is 100H, no third prize (or there could be a consolation prize of ~50H).
- 3-5 new games, set in a clockwise rotation where a game will always be active for a total of one month (with two contests per month).
- Unturned + another game to start with. Preferably, Unturned 3.0.

What are your thoughts? Does having more frequent + lower priced contests sound good to you?

This is a cool idea. To make this happen we need:

- Someone to set up and host the different new game servers
- Someone to manage and payout the competitions.

We actually have someone working on a Rust server right now, but the other games we do not have covered yet.

Are you interested in helping out? Our expenses are quite high already to host the servers we have (with over 4K players using them), but maybe we can work something out.

Really? I'm glad, I assume that this means a Rust 2.0 server then? Please be sure to send out an email announcement via the new site once the Rust server goes up.

I'm definitely willing to help out, provided I can still play/score in the contests. Tongue

Also, how many servers (physical, dedicated hardware) are there for all of the HYPER competitive game servers? The idea I had is only running server software when a game is active, and once that game is inactive the (game) server is shut down until it's competition is active again. Any persistent data (such as player creations/items or the like) should probably be reset monthly (automatically?) to keep it all fair.

I'd definitely be interested in helping out with contests. I'm not sure if I can/will be pay(ing) server bills, but I could definitely help distribute HYPER to the players. We'll see how things can be set up as they're set up. Tongue

Some additional notes:

- Space Engineers is VERY intensive, I would definitely plan for it to hog up a lot of resources if not rebooted occasonally. It would be wise to include some rules on player structures, too (limits on utility blocks and turning the max items/loose debris in the world down to something like 64 to 128). That being said, there are a great many mods we could use to help make up for those restrictions and attract a larger audience, so long as we keep the mod list short.

- There's an error in your goals page.

- HYPER gaming competitions. HYPER runs a number of generous gaming
competitions for CSGO, CS 1.6, TF2, Assetto Corsa Racing, where players can
win up to 1000 HYPER per month.
This number is now 500 HYPER per month per competition.

- Do you believe any passwords have been compromised from the hack? Not really a note, but it was a last thought before posting.
