Dooglus while your here what is your opinion of my error? Do you think i deserve some kind of compensation at all due to what happened? I think i should at the least be being met half way considering there was an error on both mine and satoshi dice's parts. But i beleive my mistake was due to lack of support and the glitch making me panic in the first place. I think at the very least i should be made even from what i lost out of my original deposit, that way both myself AND satoshi dice walk away no worse or better off from the error that occurred.

I can take your honest answer but as a well known site owner yourself, your opinion on the matter would be really appreciated.

I really don't know what to tell you. I think I would offer you some compensation personally, but I don't think they would be wrong not to. At the end of the day you did make the bets voluntarily, but only in response to them providing you with incorrect information.

At least some part of your loss is the site's fault. If their code was working properly you would never have lost the coins you lost.

I agree to this. I never said the entire balance should be refunded. But certainly a part is only fair. Smiley

--snip-- (your PM reply)

You don't understand, mate. When he tried to withdraw, it never worked. The entire thing was buggy and a wrong message was displayed when the withdrawal failed too. (It just keeps loading once you click withdraw).

I understand what you mean, but the player thought his balance was lost. He made the bet because he found that he could withdraw funds above 31.07BTC. So he only did what someone rational would do, try and withdraw to recover his loss as much as possible.

The best thing was to deduct the balance shown, but there are many alternatives. Even if you go by not deducting the withdrawal from the balance, you should display the proper message that the funds are safe.

I know because this has happened to me before, and the amount involved was less than 0.02BTC. I tried to withdraw, didn't work (early this year, I think), and when I got tired of this all simply made a bet and lost.

Even if he had won initially, he would still have lost everything if the withdrawal didn't go either. I believe you are aware that when a player with limited balance and a house with unlimited balance plays on, even if the edge is 0, the player is bound to lose. The chance of losing is 100%.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=838465.0 is a similar case, only the person involved was more patient (depends on whether he thought the site was a scam or not at the moment the withdrawal didn't go through), and waited almost a month. Guess what? He got nothing. He got the reply exactly after he lost his funds after getting tired of it and got no compensation. The site had been decided a scam, and no one plays there atm (though they keep giving fake stats on the site).

SD indirectly compelled the player to bet. If it hadn't happened the player wouldn't have lost. Can't you agree on a part compensation?

I had stopped checking the site out, right after that experience (I think I used another account I bookmarked. I don't have the link since the balane was 0, and I deleted it). I also withdrew my investment of 1 BTC from there. Account I invested with s ndnhc. You can check. I withdrew my balance in full.

Hope you will not disappoint your players

Didn't get a reply.

The player's balance shown was still intact ,this wrong message was shown in the Withdrawal page only .All of the players who had this(exact or similar) issue they contacted the support and eventually everything was fine and back to normal. This player couldnt wait for a response(Long time yes ,this is SD's fault) so instead of stop  gambling ,he thought  he may be lucky and continued .No player who fears that his coins were "stolen"(Obviously SD is trusted and well known ,so this is off the table but anyway) is trying to find a workaround, instead of just wait for us to fix it.
As i mentioned in the PM,if those extra bets were winning ones,we wouldnt have had this conversation now

Okay, someone starts a site, refuses any withdrawals, no support, and reply, wait for the player to lose the funds, and reject the claim later is totally fine?
