I now have Chipcoin.conf in the Chipcoin folder. in it I have:

Do I need an account on suprnova, and use those credentials for USERNAME and PASSWORD?
Just make conf file with these & you'll be fine.

You may exclude these:
rpcuser=USERNAME
rpcpassword=PASSWORD
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=7531
port=7532
maxconnections=100

listen=1
are u sure your .conf is not .conf.txt?otherwise delete your .conf open a txt file copy the addnode and save Chipcoin.conf and choose'all data'
