I don't know anything about Vanillacoin, but I do remember Greg Maxwell absolutely ripping in to the Vanilla dev on here and warning anyone following his projects to be extremely careful.
Whereas on the other hand I've seen CZ get nothing but respect from other devs in the scene here.
