How inconvenient, giving out new addresses for every transaction every time. I can picture a lot of mistaken transactions due to this. Do people who pay me regularly for my services have to contact me each month for a new address?
You seem to have the wrong idea about this. I never notice or care about all those different addresses whatsoever. ZERO effort, it's all automatic.
Most wallets are HD wallets nowadays, and they take complete care of this, without any action or intervention from you. After every transaction you send or receive, it generates a new address automatically. Backup is of no concern either: you backup the wallet master seed only once, and it can regenerate all address and keys later on whenever necessary.
If you gave out an address to someone in the past, they know that
that particular address belongs to you, and they can keep using that. Someone else might have received another address from you, and they can keep using that particular other address. Works fine. Your wallet will keep receiving transactions on those older addresses as well.
So, no, there is absolutely no reason why this would result in mistaken transactions or whatever. And there is no need to resend them another address every month. If someone has your address, they can keep using that. If someone doesn't have your address yet (or they lost it), you give them your current address (simply copy/paste or share from your wallet or show your QR) and done.
Do you think businesses will keep changing their deposit addresses everyday, i have already seen people tagging Mt Gox, Coinbase, Poloniex addresses
Like I explained, there is no need at all (although it's possible if you want) to keep changing addresses for existing contacts. It's actually the best of both worlds: never hassling around with resending addresses to people, but everyone has a different address of you. They don't know anything about your business with any other person. And you don't have to do anything about it, it happens all automatically.
Lol, are we really talking about this?
Why even wear clothes then? Walk naked, the what?
You missed the point, that was not what I was implying. I meant even if my wife or boss knew that a particular transaction was sent by me (i.e. the from-address was mine), and it happened to be payment for porn or whatever,
they don't know it was for porn. They just see a random transaction from some address (that they just so happen to know belongs to me) to some random other address that they don't know anything about.
If your wife checks your credit card statement, she might see a $30 payment to HornyLatinaMilfs.com, which kinda gives it away. If she checks your Bitcoin wallet, she might see a 0.1
BTC payment to 1Ns4e1Csskea2b4G4DuHCSF4FpK83bS4cb. What does that tell her?
Nothing.
