Do you suppose it's possible that Shadow is actually getting a blinking red button every 15 seconds [Meaning it has properly reset], however, the proper pool information has somehow been deleted or altered and that's why it's not hashing?  This would also mean he would have to go back to initial setup as if he just pulled it out of the box [Meaning, find out the IP if set up for DHCP, etc...]?  Then log in with "root" and "root" to go to "miner configuration" to set up the pool.
