Blockchain Scaling

With the recent deployment of RC2 with ZeroTime support and the public beta looming I have taken measures to maximise transaction throughput while reducing blockchain size. The following measures were taken.

    The maximum block size has been increased to 5 megabytes. This limit will double every 6 months.
    The block timing has been increased to 400 seconds or 7.06 minutes.

This will initially allow for a minimum of 90 megabytes worth of transactions per hour or about 100 transactions per second.

Note: I am still testing this configuration on the test network so these numbers are not yet final.
