I mean, if you don't look at the bigger picture, you could argue that 2013 was the year of Bitcoin. We saw insane gains in price, acceptance, and news coverage in that year. The tail end of 2013 is when most people first heard about Bitcoin, after all.
Well if 2013 was the year of bitcoin then it's been and gone and that's no good. We need something optimistic to look forward to. The '13 bubble was probably caused by willybot on gox so maybe we will never get there again.
Meh, I disagree regarding the Willy bot. Anyone who maintains that Willy caused the bubble wasn't watching the Chinese exchanges (Huobi in particular). There may have been a feedback loop, but there is no doubt in my mind that the heightened demand came predominantly from China. As usual, the West played mostly a reactionary role.
